Spring is Poppin' with Color!!

I just got back from buying Spring in NYC!! It was very fabulous, minus the intrusion of 9 million UN delegates that make travel in the city nearly impossible:) Got to love NYC!!
The designers were clearly inspired by color! Their collections were packed with pops of turquoise, coral and emerald. It was slightly shocking at first. Such a change from the last few season's and the very neutral palette. However, I quickly became very enthused by all the color and found myself craving an ice cold Mojito through the entire show. A very good sign for Spring!
I had lots of faves, here are just a few of them;
Rebecca Taylor did not disappoint. The lined was packed with great tops in pops of fabulous color and lots of crisp, white, cotton pieces that are always perfect for the season.
Haute Hippie was like a classy rhinestone cowgirl dream... is that even a possible combination?? I can't get the black mirrored tunic dress out of my mind...totally killer!!
Hoss Intropia I loved it all. So very European and just way cool! They have these sequin cowgirl booties that are INSANE!!! LOVE!!
Laurie B was up there on my list. She went to Paris and was inspired by all these great reds and blacks. J' aime!!
Minnie Rose's french vanilla color was completely delish!! YUM!
Wilt was the definition of California beach cool. It had me thinking bonfires and hot surfers!! NICE!!
So as this long, cold winter descends upon us know that there is a very cheerful and colorful Spring coming right behind it!! Mojito anyone??

We passed the second though so things are looking up. The dressing rooms are built and jewelry counter is in, this week paint and racks. We are opening Monday, August 8th. Well I just got back from NYC and saw everything for fall...it is INSANE!!! I am in LOVE!! I can sum up the fall trends with the FOUR L'S...Leather, Lace, Long Skirts, and Luxurious Furs!!
Tracy Reese had killer long skirts that they showed with chunky sweaters, which I can't wait to own. Haute Hippie was just too fabulous for words, and had yummy fur sweaters that you will live in. Robert Rodriguez had this lace dress that just screams Mad Men, and will have you smoking cigs and drinking scotch on the rocks:)! And then, Graham and Spencer has this leather dress that is mixed with ponte so the fit will be rockin!! These are just a few of my favs but believe me there are many, many more!! I am so excited about fall that I almost want to skip right over spring/summer......PSYCH!!!!

Fuschia is teaming up with The Bookstore and The Bike Shop for an amazing event next Thursday night at 7PM. The Bookstore is hosting a party to launch a new book " Global Soccer Mom" . The author Shayne Moore is a global advocate and a Wheaton mom. Her message is that each of us can make a huge impact on the world one simple step at a time. In keeping with her message, The Bookstore will donate 10% of the proceeds from the sale of the book to soccer supplies for the children of Glen Ellyn Children's Resource Center. Fall is right around the corner and even though it seems insane to say, we are so... excited!! The coats, the boots, the sweaters, the bags it is all just too yummy!! Here is part of our 2010 Fall Hot Pink List...items that should be on every girl's MUST HAVE list!

FUR is a huge trend for fall and winter. Almost, every line we looked at had some element of fur. Whether a vest or a collar or a coat, fur was everywhere. We have two favs one was the Haute Hippie knit rabbit fur jacket and the other was this Ambre Babzoe blush vest...LOVE IT!!

Leather, leather is everywhere. On dresses, on sweatshirts, and of course in the usual places like jackets and vests. One of our favs is the Susana Monaco combo dress. It is a good mix of classic and rock and roll.

I found the perfect handbags this season...and for those of you who know me you know I have discerning taste in bags. These ORYANY bags have that perfect combo. They are all leather, they don't try to knock anyone off and they look far more expensive then they are. I LOVE them and can't wait to get them in the store.

Boots, Boots, Boots. We dig our boots this FALL. The most insane pair that will be joining us is from Vera Wang Lavender Label. They are that stop traffic, lose your breath kind of fabulous!! The sequins are just too much to handle. I am completely OBSESSED!!

Taupes and Nudes are a massive trend for fall. Tops, sweaters, dresses, coats, shoes, jewels they are all taupe and nude. We love this neutral color trend. A perfect example of this is this tank from good old Rebecca Taylor...isn't it delish!?

Halston Heritage, we are thrilled about this line. If you saw Sex In the City 2 and were loving any of Carrie's dresses there is a good chance it was Halston Heritage. We LOVE the line. It is sexy, classic, femine, and vintage all tied into one.

Distressesd Sweaters are everywhere. Yes we have done the jeans but now the sweaters are "old" looking...and we mean shredded. We have numerous favorites but one is from Corson..a new activewear line that we love to death.

This is just a little sample of the goodies we have coming so get excited and call if you want to be notified when any of these arrive. You know they will be flyin out the door as soon as they are unpacked!!

I am very excited...I am off to LA for Market week and I can't wait to see all the fun Spring and Summer merchandise. Hey Ladies!! We just got in Sweet Pea and Stitch's jeans. The Sweet Pea is fab. Two great tops and an adorable dress. The dress is perfect for all of these hot days we have been having. The jeans are white, straight leg and distressed but with a twist. Get in here and check out the goodies!!

LA UPDATE

Ok, I just got back from LA and I am in love!! First in love with everything that we have coming into Fuschia and second in love with LA. It really is so dreamy!
My sis and I saw all the goodies for Holiday and there are so many amazing pieces that I don't know where to begin. Haute Hippie took my breath away. Amazing tops that will look so cool with a beat up pair of jeans and sweaters that you will just never want to take off, not to mention their leggings which feel like butter!! Then Rebecca Taylor resort was really cool. One sweater in particular was just insane. It was a mix of pinks and metallics, I just want to have one right this minute. Then I found these Boutique 9 wedge boots that are a knock off of the Chloe suede from last year but the toe is open....they are so, so , so hot!! Again, can't wait to get them.
Then Chan Luu was delicious, these sequin cardigans, big soft sweaters and glitter tanks just fab!! CAN'T WAIT!! Then I found adorable summer stuff that should be in the store next week. Great little dresses and tops in bright colors that are perfect for summer.
Then LA is just one of my favorite places on earth. I love the casual laid back attitude that is just everywhere. We stayed at the Mondrian Hotel in West Hollywood and that was so cool. The pool area was such a scene. On the last day I was able to grab a couple hours by the pool and I could have sat there forever and a day. First of all everyone was beautiful and then they were all just lounging about on huge ottomans relaxing and drinking all with table service, which is a deal that I know nothing about. It looked very fun though!! I did for one second, whilst watching the crowd, wish for fake boobs but then I realized I would nolonger fit into half the clothes that I love so I decided to be happy with my flat ones. If you ever go to LA there are a few places you must go. E. Baldi for dinner is one of them. The waiters are not that nice but the food is so good it just does not matter. The pasta is so light and fluffy my sister and I ate three bowls and a pizza. YUM!! Then you must go to the Chanel on Robertson, Pedro is my new best friend, and The Ivy for lunch!!
I am off to go dream about Haute Hippie. Get in here next week and see all the goodies!!

It is packed full of adorable tops that are perfect for the Holiday season and sweaters that are just too fabulous for words!! I can't wait to see it in person!! The Fuschia Girls have very exciting news!! Fuschia is carrying a new makeup line and we are obsessed. Yes, even Ashlee, who has extremely expensive taste in makeup, just can't get enough of the stuff. So come on in and check out The Balm it really is the BOMB!!!

Some of our favs from the line are the Plump your Pucker Gloss, which comes in an amazing nude color and absolutely does not burn. The TimeBalm Concealer is amazing it gives as good as coverage as the Cle De Peau plus it helps to fight wrinkles, hides dark circles and repairs the skin all at the same time. It is such a great treatment that they recommend that you wear it at night!! The Shadylady Eye shadows are so cool. Spring at Fuschia has been a bustle of activity!! Dresses are definitely the hottest item. They seem to run out of the store as soon as they arrive. Rebecca Taylor is by far and away the best seller. There is barely an item to be had!!
Fuschia is in the process of getting a face lift!!! We got a little bored and needed a makeover. Make sure you stop in and check out the new look!!

Fall Coterie NYC

We recently got back from the Fall Coterie show in NYC. It was a blast and we saw so much that we loved it is going to make the buy for fall especially difficult!!! The sheath and the mini are here to stay for fall, its all very Factory Girl meets 2007, but ladies remember Edie Sedgwick wasn’t a style icon for nothing. The oversize top is here to stay so ladies you need to ROCK out the look. Remember the people who look the best in clothes are the people who WEAR the clothes and don’t let the clothes WEAR them. It is our mantra at Fuschia!!
Our favorite designer for fall is Tracy Reese. She is back to doing what she does best…her pieces are embellished and her prints are fresh. We lost our breath more than once while seeing the line. We also loved the new Tracy Reese handbags that they debuted at the show. The leathers were all rich hues of navy and plum and they had a Lanvin like quality. WE ADORE them and can’t wait to get them in August. We also ordered some Tracy Reese shoes; our favorites were gold metallic pumps that had a diamond circle on the toe. So yummy and they will go with absolutely everything. Rebecca Taylor still looked fabulous. We especially loved the corset dress in barlo (which is a rich plum color) and the wrap sweater with deer button…it just looks way too cozy. It is a perfect fall item!!! Milly was so very Milly. We are total obsessed with the shocking pink color in her first delivery and her ecru wool sheath dress with jeweled neckline. We will be wearing the dress with our favorite pair of patent leather boots from 12th St by Cynthia Vincent. They will also be joining us at Fuschia this fall.
Twin Set was also high on the list of favorites. It was easy to fill their high european minimum because each piece was more fabulous and unique than the next…and we know because we tried them all on. Their sweaters with Lanvin like adornments are definitely a must have for the fall season!!!! Can you tell we dig Lanvin?
All in all, the trip was a huge success. It was totally exhausting but delicious dinners at our NYC favorite spots, Pastis and Da Silvano helped to ease our weary bones. The Bloody Marys at The Peninsula Hotel helped to ease our weary noggins!!! As a total bonus we got to see rocking Rod Stewart walk into the hotel, still looking like a hottie, plaid coat and all!!!
